Sublimation Printing

Octivo is proud to be one of the leading sublimation printers in Queensland. With our state of the art Mimaki printers and Monti Antonio industrial presses, we can assure you that your sublimated products are of the highest quality.

Sublimation printing (or otherwise known as heat transfer or dye sublimation) is a printing technique that uses heat to transfer dye onto a range of products and garments. In dye sublimation printing, the ink is heated into a gas, then diffused and solidified into the chosen medium. As a result, sublimation printing is known as one of the most durable printing techniques, ensuring colour will never fade, wash out or tarnish.

Screen Printing

Screen printing is an oldie but a goodie printing technique that dates back as far as 960 AD and popularised by artist Andy Warhol in the 1960s.

Screen printing allows for customised designs and results in high quality prints on flat objects such as shirts, aprons, signs and more.

What is screen printing? Put simply, screen printing involves passing ink through a mesh or screen that is stretched on a frame. Firstly, a design is produced on a computer and then printed. The screen is then prepared with a stencil to block ink around the areas that are not to be printed. The frame is then placed onto the item, followed by ink onto the screen. The ink is then pushed onto the screen by a squeegee.

Digital Printing

Digital printing is one of the simplest forms of modern printing. It is a printing technique that doesn’t require print plates or frames.

One of the greatest advantages of digital printing is speed. With very minimal set up, we can turn around products much faster than traditional screen printing. The downside is that it uses a lot of ink which is relatively expensive, therefore pushing up the price of the product per unit.

It’s a great option for short print runs that you need ASAP.
